For Christmas one year, my sister Anne gave me a book about important dates in literary history. I loved it as readers can tell from the section This Week in Literary History. Name a date and because of her, I can recite major and obscure literary connections.

My sister Anne has her birthday today and like the rotten sister I am, I forgot to send a card. I feel even worse because she never forgets my birthday.

So this is my apology to a wonderful sister who always encouraged my love of reading and told me to go travel and see the world. I love you, sis. Thanks for everything and giving This Week in Literary History its start.

The picture above is of Ramona the Pest taken in Portland. I’m sure many times over the years growing up, my sister, the sensible Beezus, thought of me as a big Pest!
